The link tops out at 32.4 Gbps using HBR3 signalling, which is the maximum defined for DisplayPort 1.4. At 8K resolution the cable relies on DSC 1.2 compression to fit within that bandwidth envelope. Without a source and sink that both implement DSC 1.2 the 8K 60 Hz mode will not activate.

The 10 ft run uses 26–30 AWG solid copper conductors with triple-layer shielding under a nylon-braided jacket.
