Bi-directional DisplayPort 1.4 switch

The LUOM TJ-A106 is a bi-directional DisplayPort 1.4 switch that routes signals between two sources and one display or one source and two displays. It supports 8K at 30 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz with 10-bit colour depth and HDR. A manual button selects the active path and indicator lights show the current state. The unit requires external 5 V power via the included USB cable to operate.

Bandwidth and resolution limits

The switch passes up to 32.4 Gbps, matching the DisplayPort 1.4 specification. When two sources with different maximum resolutions are connected, the output is limited to the lower capability of the pair. Only one display shows an image at any time; simultaneous output to both displays is not supported. Audio formats up to 32-bit / 1536 kHz are transmitted alongside video.

Setup requirements

Verify that each device uses a standard DisplayPort 1.4 cable rated for the target resolution and refresh rate. Confirm that a free USB port or 5 V adapter is available to power the switch, because no signal passes without it. Ensure your source and display both support the desired mode — 8K 30 Hz, 4K 144 Hz or 1080p 240 Hz — before ordering.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 1-to-2 or 2-to-1 mode for my setup?

Use 2-to-1 mode to connect two PCs to one monitor, or 1-to-2 mode to switch one PC between two monitors. Both modes share the same ports and button.

What does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth deliver on my monitor?

It enables 8K at 30 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, or 1080p at 240 Hz, provided your cables and GPU also support DisplayPort 1.4.

How does the DisplayPort 1.4 interface limit real-world performance?

The 32.4 Gbps cap sets the maximum resolution and refresh combinations listed; you cannot exceed 8K 30 Hz or 4K 144 Hz even with newer GPUs.
