LUOM TJ-A106 bi-directional DP 1.4 switch

The LUOM TJ-A106 is a DisplayPort 1.4 bi-directional switch built for users who need to share one 8K or high-refresh display between two computers or toggle a single source between two monitors. It suits desk setups where only one screen is active at a time and manual switching is acceptable.

Capacity and headroom: 32.4 Gbps bandwidth

Bandwidth of 32.4 Gbps carries 8K at 30 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz or 144 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz with 10-bit colour and HDR. The link drops to the lowest common resolution when sources differ, so an 8K and a 4K source together will only show 4K. Two displays cannot be active simultaneously.

Build integration: USB-powered DP female ports

The aluminium box measures 12 by 6 by 0.08 inches and weighs 1.2 ounces. It requires the included USB 5 V power cable to operate; without it no signal passes. Two female DP 1.4 inputs and one female DP 1.4 output connect with standard DP cables, and a front button with indicator LEDs selects the active path.

Questions about this item

Will the TJ-A106 pass 8K 30 Hz from a modern GPU to my older DisplayPort 1.2 monitor?

The switch is backward compatible with earlier DP standards, so an 8K 30 Hz source will negotiate the highest rate the monitor supports, up to 4K 120 Hz or 1440p 165 Hz.

How do I know the TJ-A106 is switching correctly after I connect power and press the button?

Press the select button; the indicator LED moves to show which of the two ports is active, and the connected display updates within one second.

Does the box include the DisplayPort cables I need for two PCs and one monitor?

The package contains the switch, a DC 5 V power cable and a manual; you must supply three standard DisplayPort 1.4 cables separately.
