Cable purpose and audience

This LUOM USB4 cable connects any USB-C device to another USB-C device. It is built for users who need the highest current data rate and power delivery in a single 6.6ft link.

Who it suits and who it does not

Professionals moving large video libraries between SSD and workstation benefit from the 80 Gbps throughput. Creators driving a 16K@60Hz or dual 8K display get the required bandwidth. Buyers whose gear tops out at lower USB or Thunderbolt speeds will not see a gain. Anyone needing a longer run must choose a different length.

Deciding specification

The cable is certified for USB4 Gen 4 at 80 Gbps with 240W (48V/5A) Power Delivery 3.1, making it the right part only when both host and peripheral support that speed and wattage.

Questions about this item

What length is the cable and will it reach a monitor on a desk?

The cable is 6.6ft long and has USB C Male connectors on both ends for a bi-directional, reversible fit into any USB-C port.

How do I connect it for 16K@60Hz video and what is the common mistake?

Plug each USB C Male end into a Thunderbolt or USB4 port that supports video; the mistake is using a USB-C port that only carries data or power.

How durable is the cable and when might it need replacing?

Lab tests show it withstands up to 5000 bends; replace it if the connectors become loose or the jacket shows wear that affects 240W charging or 80Gbps speeds.
