What this cable delivers

A USB4 cable with Thunderbolt 4 certification, male-to-male USB-C connectors and a five-foot length. It supports 40 Gbps data transfer and 240 W charging for laptops, tablets and phones that accept USB Power Delivery at 48 V and 5 A.

Bandwidth and power limits

The 40 Gbps ceiling applies only when both host and peripheral support that speed; otherwise the link falls back to Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 rates. Video output reaches 8K or 6K at 60 Hz on a single display, or two 4K streams when two cables are used. The 240 W maximum requires a charger and device that both negotiate 48 V at 5 A.

Build and daily use

Grey jacket with USB-C plugs on each end, built for repeated insertion and flexing at the desk or in a bag. The connectors seat firmly in Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 and standard USB-C ports, so one cable handles charging, data and display duties without adapters.

Questions about this item

Which length should I pick for a desktop-to-monitor run?

The cable is 5 ft long; choose this length when your devices sit close together on the same desk.

What does 40 Gbps mean when I copy files?

The theoretical peak is 40 Gbps; real-world reads reach about 2.8 GB/s and writes about 2.1 GB/s if both ends support that speed.

Does the Thunderbolt 4 label limit what I can plug in?

It works with Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 hosts, and falls back to USB 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 devices at their native rates.
