What it is

The LXHY 83B1001XUS is a 100W USB-C car laptop charger built for mobile professionals. It draws power from a vehicle's 12V or 24V socket and delivers up to 100W over USB-C plus 18W over USB-A. Rectifier technology smooths voltage fluctuations for stable output while driving.

The deciding spec

Output reaches 100W at 20V 5A on the USB-C port, which is the threshold for charging larger ultraportables and mobile workstations in transit. If a laptop requires more than 100W over USB-C, this adapter will not keep pace under load.

Capacity and headroom

It comfortably powers Dell XPS, Latitude and Precision models listed in the compatibility data, along with Lenovo ThinkPad, Yoga and IdeaPad devices, MacBook Pro and Air, HP Spectre and EliteBook, LG Gram, Samsung, Acer, Asus and Chromebook units. It runs out when a system demands over 100W USB-C power or uses a proprietary non-USB-C charging connector.
