Product identity

The M.A. Ford 2XDSR3465A Twister Xd is a solid carbide drill with an 8.80 mm cutting diameter. It is manufactured for power and pneumatic accessory applications in professional workshops.

Who it suits and who it does not

This drill suits machinists who need a rigid carbide tool for precise holemaking in tough materials. It does not suit buyers who require a larger or smaller diameter, a different flute geometry or a coated variant not described here.

Sustained-load behaviour

Solid carbide construction maintains edge integrity and dimensional accuracy during extended drilling cycles. The material resists deflection and heat buildup better than high-speed steel alternatives under continuous use.

Questions about this item

What chuck size do I need on my drill press to hold the 8.80 mm shank?

Use a drill press or milling machine chuck that accepts an 8.80 mm shank; the solid-carbide body requires a rigid, precision collet or keyless chuck rated for that diameter.

Can I run this Twister Xd 5X drill in a handheld cordless drill that I already own?

Handheld drills lack the rigidity and speed control for a solid-carbide 5×D tool; use it only in a rigid machine such as a drill press or CNC to avoid breakage.

How do I confirm the drill is cutting correctly after installation?

Verify steady chip formation, consistent feed force, and hole diameter within tolerance; stop immediately if vibration, squealing, or oversized holes appear.
