3 mm coolant-fed drill for CNC metalwork
The M.A. Ford Twister Xd 3X is a solid-carbide drill with internal coolant channels and a 3.00 mm cutting diameter. It is built for high-speed drilling in steels, stainless alloys and cast iron on CNC machines where through-tool coolant improves chip evacuation and tool life.
Replaces standard external-coolant drills
When hole depth exceeds three diameters, external flood coolant often fails to reach the cutting zone. The internal coolant feed clears chips from deep holes, reduces cycle time and prevents premature wear that occurs with conventional drills in the same material.
Requires a machine spindle
The shank must seal against a coolant inducer or holder rated for the system pressure used in the shop. It frees the programmer from peck cycles in many materials, shortening code and reducing non-cutting time. Buyers without through-spindle coolant cannot use this drill as intended.

Questions about this item
What shank size fits the Twister Xd 3X Coolant Fed Drill 3.00 mm?
The drill has a 3.00 mm diameter, so it requires a collet or chuck that accepts a 3.00 mm shank.
How do I install the coolant-fed drill correctly?
Insert the drill fully into the holder, align the internal coolant channel with the machine supply, and tighten securely; the step often missed is verifying coolant flow before starting the cut.
When should I replace the 2XDCS1181A drill?
Replace it when the cutting edges show wear, chipping, or when hole quality drops below tolerance; inspect after each job to catch dulling early.
