Stream Controller for Live Creators
The M-Audio D6 Black combines a 61-key MIDI controller with 15 customizable LCD macro keys. It connects to PC or Mac via USB-A to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C cables. Streamers, gamers and office users can trigger OBS scenes, control audio levels and launch applications with one press. The unit requires the companion software to be running for full functionality.
USB Integration and Workspace Impact
The controller draws power and data through a single USB link, so no external power supply is needed. Its 14.33in width and 12.83in height sit on a desk without demanding a dedicated rack space. The tactile touch-and-push buttons replace keyboard shortcuts, freeing the main keyboard for typing or playing. RGB lighting with nine selectable modes adds visual feedback without extra cables.
LCD Keys and Software Ecosystem
Each of the 15 macro keys shows a custom icon on its own LCD, letting users identify functions at a glance. The software store supplies drag-and-drop plugins for OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Twitch, YouTube and other platforms. Firmware and software updates are required before first use to unlock the full macro library. The package includes both USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cables for immediate connection.

Questions about this item
Will the 61 keys sustain velocity response during a long performance?
The controller uses a standard MIDI keyboard action with 61 keys; sustained velocity response depends on the host software and the instrument loaded, not on an internal processor limit.
How loud or warm does the unit get when the 15 LCD macro keys and RGB ring run all day?
The device draws power only from the USB connection and has no fan; the LCD keys and 9-mode RGB ring add negligible heat and produce no audible noise during continuous operation.
What computer port and operating system must I already have to use the USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cables included?
You need a free USB-A or USB-C port on a PC or laptop running Windows or macOS; the controller is not compatible with consoles or mobile devices.
