Compact five-channel mixer for solo sources

The Mackie Mix5 is a five-channel compact mixer built for users who need a single microphone input alongside stereo line sources. It provides one mic/line channel with phantom power and a two-band EQ, plus two stereo 1/4" line inputs and dedicated stereo RCA inputs and outputs for playback or recording. Main left and right outputs complete the signal path for simple live or studio setups.

Rugged metal chassis with straightforward

A metal chassis protects the internal circuitry during transport and daily use, while the compact footprint of 11.34 by 6.5 by 3.27 inches fits on a desktop or small rack shelf. The connector layout places mic, line and RCA jacks on the top panel for quick access, and the unit weighs 1.4 pounds so it stays put without being cumbersome. Corded electric power means no external wall-wart to misplace.

Passive cooling keeps operation silent

With no fan in the design, the mixer runs completely silently, making it suitable for quiet recording environments and broadcast booths. Low-noise preamps and high-headroom circuitry maintain clean audio without adding hiss, and the corded electric supply draws only modest power during normal use. The absence of moving parts also reduces long-term maintenance.

Questions about this item

What connection standard do the main outputs use and what does that limit?

The main L/R outputs use 1/4 inch TS connectors, cabling length and balanced signal runs are limited by that unbalanced interface.

What are the exact external dimensions and weight for rack or bag planning?

The unit measures 11.34 L x 6.5 W x 3.27 H inches and weighs 1.4 pounds.

How is the mixer powered and which step do users often miss during first setup?

Connect the supplied corded-electric power supply to mains before switching the rear-panel power button on; skipping the power-supply connection is the common oversight.
