Alternating relay with DPDT contacts rated 10 A at 240 V AC and 24 V DC, 120 V AC coil, LED status indicator, plug-in octal base
The Macromatic ARP120A3R is a plug-in alternating relay designed for industrial electrical control panels. It operates on a 120V AC coil and uses a DPDT contact form rated at 10 A for both 240V AC and 24V DC circuits. The octal base with eight pins allows straightforward installation into compatible sockets. A built-in LED indicates which load is next to energise.
A selector switch on the body lets the operator choose between alternating mode, always energising load 1, or always energising load 2. This flexibility supports testing, maintenance or fixed-load scenarios without rewiring. The relay draws less than 3 VA, keeping control-circuit burden low. The transparent housing allows visual inspection of the internal mechanism.
The single specification that determines suitability is the 10 A contact rating at 240V AC and 24V DC. Builders needing higher current capacity or a different coil voltage must select another device. The plug-in mounting style requires a matching octal socket, which is not included. This relay is not for applications requiring timed delay or latching functions.

The contacts are rated for 10 A at 240 V AC and 10 A at 24 V DC; relay contact life depends on load type and switching frequency, so plan inspection intervals based on your application.
The coil draws less than 3 VA at 120 V AC; sustained operation is limited by coil temperature rise within the 2.9 in deep, 2.4 in high, 1.7 in wide plug-in housing.
The LED only shows which load is next to energise and draws negligible power; the relay itself is silent solid-state switching with no moving parts to generate audible noise.
