Mobile stereo headset with 40mm drivers

The white Mad Catz Cyborg F.R.E.Q. M is a mobile stereo headset built around 40mm drivers for dynamic sound. It includes two 3.5mm controller cables that work with computers and smart devices. Each cable adds microphone muting and media controls. A travel pouch is supplied for storage.

Gamers and commuters needing inline controls

This headset suits users who want a single headset for both PC or Mac and mobile devices with a 3.5mm jack. The dual cables provide mute and playback controls on each platform. Buyers who require wireless connectivity or a USB digital connection should look elsewhere. It also does not meet the needs of users who want active noise cancellation or a detachable boom microphone.

40mm drivers for everyday audio

The 40mm drivers handle music, calls and game audio at typical mobile volumes without distortion. The stereo presentation is adequate for casual gaming and media consumption. Bass extension and soundstage width run out at higher volumes or in critical listening sessions. The analogue 3.5mm connection limits headroom to the output quality of the source device.

Questions about this item

Do I need a device with a 3.5mm audio jack to use this headset?

Yes, the headset connects via two 3.5mm controller cables, so your computer, phone or tablet must provide a matching 3.5mm port for audio and microphone signals.

Will the in-line controls on the 3.5mm cables work with my older PC or Mac?

The computer cable is compatible with both PCs and Macs, and its in-line controller provides microphone muting and media functions on systems that support standard 3.5mm headset signalling.

How can I confirm the 40mm drivers are delivering sound correctly after plugging in?

Play audio on the connected device and listen for clear stereo output from both earcups; use the in-line microphone mute switch and verify the input level moves in your system sound settings when you speak.
