Tailored Grip

The Mad Catz R.A.T.7 is a wired gaming mouse built for PC and Mac users who want a tool that moulds to their hand. Its frame extends in length while the thumb panel slides forward, back and pivots outward so palm and claw grips both find a natural resting point. A solid aluminium chassis keeps the structure rigid without adding bulk.

Weight And Sensor Tuning

A custom weight system lets you add or remove mass until the glide feels right for your play style. The twin-eye laser sensor tracks each axis independently at up to 6400 DPI and follows movement up to six metres per second, giving low-sensitivity players consistent precision during fast swipes.

Aluminium Frame And Wired Link

The metal core resists flex during aggressive lifts and clicks, while the USB cable supplies power and data without latency or battery concerns. Four-direction thumb-panel adjustment means every side button stays within reach no matter how you hold the mouse, reducing hand strain over long sessions.

Questions about this item

How long do the PTFE mouse feet last before they need replacing?

The mouse uses standard PTFE feet that wear down after extended use on rough pads; replacement sets are widely available and install in minutes.

At what tracking speed does the 6400 DPI laser sensor stop reporting accurately?

The twin-eye laser sensor tracks correctly up to six metres per second; faster swipes may lose precision.

Does the aluminium chassis get warm during all-day gaming sessions?

The metal frame stays at room temperature because the mouse draws only standard USB power and has no active lighting or heating elements.
