Compatible Black Toner for Ricoh Aficio MP C2000

This compatible black toner cartridge replaces Ricoh originals 884962 and 888636 for use in Aficio MP C2000, MP C2500 and MP C3000 colour multifunction printers. It also fits equivalent Gestetner, Lanier and Savin models listed in the compatibility data. The cartridge is new and contains a single black unit.

Suits offices printing up to 20K mono pages.

Buyers running Ricoh MP C2000, MP C2500 or MP C3000 devices who need a black replacement with a 20K yield at 5 % coverage will find this cartridge matches the required density and line resolution. It does not supply cyan, magenta or yellow toner, so colour-only printing requirements are not met by this single item.

ISO/IEC 19798 rated 20K black yield at 5 % coverage

The decisive specification is the 20K page yield measured against the ISO/IEC 19798 standard at 5 % page coverage. This figure determines whether the cartridge volume matches the department's monthly print load. Colour cartridges for the same machines are rated at 15K each under the same test method.

Questions about this item

How do I install the black toner cartridge in my Ricoh MP C2500 and which step is most often missed?

Open the front cover, pull out the old black cartridge, shake the new one gently five or six times, remove the sealing tape completely, slide it in until it clicks, then close the cover; the step most often missed is forgetting to pull the sealing tape out before insertion.

What maintenance or replacement will this cartridge need after the 20K ISO/IEC 19798 yield is reached?

Once the 20K black page yield at 5 % coverage is reached the cartridge itself must be replaced; no separate drum or developer unit is included, so only the toner cartridge is swapped.

What limit appears first during a long continuous print run with this black toner?

The 20K page yield at 5 % coverage is the first limit; after that volume the toner is depleted and print density will drop until the cartridge is replaced.
