Eight-slot smart charger with 16 AA NiMH cells

This kit pairs the Powerex MH-C801D eight-slot smart charger with sixteen AccuLoop-X AA NiMH rechargeable batteries rated at 2600 mAh each. It is aimed at photographers, field recordists and anyone who powers multiple AA devices from a single mains outlet. The charger accepts both AA and AAA cells and operates on 100-240 VAC input for worldwide use.

Charges eight cells simultaneously at 2000 mA per

The charger delivers a 2000 mA charge current to each of its eight independent channels, replenishing high-capacity AA cells in roughly one to two hours depending on their state of charge. A secondary 100 mA output at 20 V handles AAA cells or maintenance top-ups. The 100-240 V 50/60 Hz input removes the need for a travel transformer.

Drop-in installation with automatic termination

Batteries slide into clearly marked slots; the charger detects chemistry, applies the correct algorithm and stops automatically when each cell reaches full charge. The only common issue is inserting a deeply discharged cell that falls below the detection threshold — such cells may need a brief pre-charge in a simpler device before the smart charger will recognise them.

Questions about this item

How long will the 2600 mAh AA batteries run in a typical device?

The 2600 mAh rating means each battery can deliver 2600 milliamps for one hour, or a proportional current for longer; actual run-time depends on the device's power draw.

What does the 100-240 VAC input on the MH-C801D charger mean for travel?

The charger accepts any mains voltage from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 Hz, so it works worldwide with only a plug adapter.

Will the MH-C801D fit both AA and AAA cells in the same slots?

Yes, the charger's eight slots are designed to accommodate both AA and AAA nickel-metal hydride cells simultaneously.
