8-bay LCD charger with AA NiMH batteries

The Powerex MH-C808M charges one to eight AAA, AA, C or D cells in both NiCd and NiMH chemistries. A white-backlit LCD shows voltage, current and elapsed time for each slot. It ships with eight AA Powerex PRO cells rated at 2700 mAh and a storage case. The unit runs on a 100 to 240 VAC adapter for worldwide use.

Replaces single-bay or fixed-rate chargers

Selectable Rapid and Soft modes let you match charge current to cell capacity, while a low-temperature algorithm protects cells in cool conditions. A built-in deep-conditioning cycle restores capacity on tired packs and the microprocessor flags defective cells automatically. The jump is worth it when you manage mixed sizes or need detailed per-slot feedback.

Insert cells and choose a mode

The charger accepts one to eight batteries without pairing requirements. Rapid rates reach 2000 mA for AA, C and D sizes; Soft rates run at 1000 mA. AAA rapid current is 700 mA, soft is 350 mA. Negative delta-V cut-off stops charge at full capacity. The only common issue is forgetting to select Soft mode for low-capacity cells, which can overheat them.

Questions about this item

Will the charger accept AA, C and D cells at the same time?

The eight independent bays charge one to eight pieces of AAA, AA, C or D cells in any mix.

Which charge mode should I choose for the included 2700 mAh AA batteries?

Select Rapid Charge for 2000 mA or Soft Charge for 1000 mA; both suit the 2700 mAh cells.

How often should I run the deep-conditioning cycle on these batteries?

Run the built-in conditioning system when capacity drops noticeably; it restores cells by cycling them automatically.
