Twin 5/8″ spigots and single-lever lock

The Manfrotto 155 Double Ball Joint Head provides twin swivelling 5/8″ spigots secured by a single lever lock. It ships with the 2933 camera platform for direct mounting. The unit stands 5.7″ tall and supports a maximum load of 8 kg.

Lighting arms and camera rigs

The head attaches to lighting stands or grip arms via its 5/8″ spigots, freeing the camera platform for quick repositioning. Builders needing a quick-release plate should note the 2916QR variant is sold separately. It does not suit setups requiring heavier payloads or different mounting threads.

Questions about this item

How much weight can the double ball joint head support before it starts to slip?

The head has a maximum load capacity of 8, so it will hold up to that weight before movement becomes a risk.

Does the single lever lock generate any heat or noise during extended studio sessions?

The lock is a purely mechanical lever with no motor or electronics, so it produces no heat and makes no audible noise when engaged.
