Signal Conversion for Legacy Displays

The Manhattan 151559 adapter converts a digital HDMI source into an analog VGA signal while extracting audio to a separate output. It supports 1080p resolution on monitors, projectors or other VGA-equipped displays. A micro-USB port is available when the source cannot supply enough power. Fully shielded construction and gold-plated contacts reduce interference.

Ideal for HDMI Sources Needing VGA Input

This converter suits anyone connecting a modern laptop, media player or desktop to an older projector or monitor that only accepts VGA. It is not for users who require a pure digital link such as DisplayPort or DVI, nor for setups that need to pass multi-channel audio through the video cable. Buyers wanting bidirectional conversion or upscaling should look elsewhere.

1080p Maximum Analog Output

The single specification that decides fit is the 1080p analog video limit. If the target display or application demands higher resolutions, this adapter will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

Will the Micro-USB power port on the MANHATTAN 151559 need a power adapter later?

The Micro-USB port supplies extra power only when the HDMI source cannot drive the converter; most laptops and media players work without it, so a separate adapter is rarely needed.

What resolution ceiling appears first when driving a VGA projector all day with this converter?

The converter tops out at 1080p analog output, so that resolution limit is reached before any thermal or bandwidth constraint appears.

Does the MANHATTAN 151559 get hot or draw noticeable power during continuous operation?

It is a passive, fully shielded dongle with gold-plated contacts and no active cooling; power draw is minimal and the molded PVC body stays cool to the touch.
