USB-C 3.2 Gen2 extension cable
This Manw cable extends a USB-C connection by 6.6 ft while preserving the full 20 Gbps bandwidth of the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard. It is built for users who need to place a monitor, external SSD or eGPU farther from the host laptop than the stock cable allows.
Practical limits of the USB 3.2 Gen2 interface
The link tops out at 20 Gbps and 4K 60 Hz video, so any device or cable added beyond this extender must also support those speeds to avoid a bottleneck. Power delivery reaches 240 W at 50 V/5 A, yet the host, charger and device all have to negotiate PD 3.1 or QC 4.0 for the highest rate; otherwise the connection falls back to lower PD or QC profiles such as 100 W, 60 W or 18 W.
Installation notes and common pitfalls
The cable has a male plug on one end and a female port on the other, so a separate USB 3.2 male-to-male cable is required to complete the run — that cable is not included. Video only works when the host port implements DisplayPort Alternate Mode; a plain data-only USB-C port will not drive a display. Thunderbolt 3 or 4 hosts are compatible, but the link remains limited to USB 3.2 Gen2 speeds and PD rules.

Questions about this item
Should I pick a shorter or longer version of this cable for my desk setup?
The product is offered in a single 6.6ft length; choose it if that reach matches the distance between your host and peripheral.
Will I actually see 20Gbps throughput when I plug an external SSD into this extender?
The cable supports up to 20Gbps data transfer and is backward compatible with USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0, so real-world speed depends on the drive and host controller.
Does the USB-C 3.2 Gen2 interface limit charging or video when I use this extension?
It carries up to 240W Power Delivery (50V/5A) with PD 3.1 and QC 4.0, and passes 4K@60Hz video when the host supports DP Alternate Mode.
