Mortise Armored Deadlock Body

This Marks USA 2/3 Series 2 mortise lockset is designed for doors requiring a 2-1/2 inch backset and a heavy-duty deadbolt. The brass body with polished brass US3 finish suits residential or light-commercial installations where keyed-different security is specified.

Stamped Steel Case Construction

A stamped steel case houses the 1 inch bolt throw behind a 1-1/16 by 4-5/8 inch front plate, providing structural rigidity during repeated locking cycles. The included #4035 strike aligns with the armored front to maintain consistent engagement under sustained use.

Questions about this item

Does the Marks 2/3 Series 2 mortise deadlock body generate any noise or heat when the bolt is operated repeatedly?

The lock is a purely mechanical mortise deadlock with a 1" bolt throw and stamped steel case, so it produces no heat and only the sound of the bolt engaging the #4035 strike.

What door preparation and trim must already be on the door for this lock body to function?

You need a door mortised to accept a 1-1/16" x 4-5/8" front with a 2-1/2" backset, plus a cylinder, thumbturn or lever trim to operate the 1" bolt throw.
