Gryphon GD4590 2D Handheld Scanner

The Master Gryphon GD4590 is a 2D handheld barcode scanner built for counter and back-office workflows. It reads common one-dimensional and two-dimensional symbologies from paper labels and mobile screens. The USB interface provides plug-and-play connectivity with standard host systems. This unit ships new and ready for immediate deployment.

USB Cable Enables Direct Host Power

The supplied USB cable delivers both data and power from the host port so no external adapter is required. This simplifies cabling at the workstation and reduces the number of power outlets needed. The fixed cable also removes a potential point of failure during daily use. Scanning begins as soon as the device is connected to a compatible port.

Compact Body Suits Continuous Handheld Use

The lightweight housing fits comfortably in the hand for repetitive scanning tasks throughout a shift. A trigger-activated aiming system helps operators target codes quickly without precise alignment. The durable shell withstands routine drops onto hard surfaces in retail or warehouse environments. USB Type-A termination ensures broad compatibility with existing PC and POS terminals.

Questions about this item

Will the scan window on the Gryphon GD4590-BK-HD need periodic cleaning to maintain read accuracy?

Yes, the scan window should be wiped with a lint-free cloth when dust or smudges appear; no other user-serviceable parts are inside the handheld unit.

What limits continuous scanning sessions on the GD4590-BK-HD before a pause is required?

The scanner draws power directly from the USB port, so extended use is limited by the host port’s current budget rather than an internal battery.

How much heat or fan noise does the Gryphon GD4590-BK-HD produce during all-day operation?

The unit has no moving parts and runs cool; only the USB connector warms slightly, and there is no audible fan or mechanical noise.
