What this machine does

The Maxi-Matic MA1008 is a portable ice crusher and shaved ice machine that includes a flexible silicone tray for freezing 15 cubic ice blocks. It produces both crushed ice and fluffy snow-like shavings for slushies, margaritas and other cold drinks. The unit operates with a manual hand crank so it works anywhere without electricity. 18/8 stainless steel blades resist rust and stay sharp for long-term use.

What to check before ordering

You need a freezer compartment that can accommodate the included ice cube tray to make the 15 blocks this machine requires. The white housing measures 8.27 inches high, 7.28 inches wide and 5.31 inches deep, so confirm you have counter or storage space for those dimensions. The manual crank design means no power outlet is needed, but you must be comfortable operating it by hand.

How it fits into your kitchen

The stainless steel blade assembly and silicone tray are both easy to clean and store, keeping the footprint small when not in use. Because it requires no electricity, the crusher can move between indoor counters, outdoor patios or camping sites without cables. The 15-cube tray supplies a ready batch of ice blocks, freeing you from buying bagged ice for parties or daily drinks.

Questions about this item

Does the MA1008 include the ice cube tray or must I buy it separately?

The package contains one ice crusher with 18/8 stainless steel blades and one flexible silicone ice cube tray that makes 15 cubes, so nothing extra is required.

How does the 15-cube tray capacity affect my choice of model?

This single model produces 15 cubes per freeze cycle; if you need more ice at once you would run additional batches rather than select a different capacity.

What does the 500-watt rating mean when I am actually making shaved ice?

The 500-watt motor powers the three-blade cutter to shave cubes into fluffy snow-like ice quickly, yet the hand-crank option lets you operate it without electricity.
