Duo 16'' Round Flush Mount

The Maxim Mfg. 12284 Duo is a 16-inch round flush mount designed for interior ceiling installation. Its double glass shade combines a Satin White inner layer with a transparent Clear outer layer. The fixture suits homeowners seeking a sleek, modern decorative lighting element for standard ceiling heights.

Double glass shade construction

The layered shade design diffuses light through the inner Satin White glass while the outer Clear glass adds depth and protects the inner surface. This construction changes the visual texture compared with a single shade, offering a softer glow and a more refined appearance. The base and supports come in a choice of Satin Nickel or Black finish.

Flush mount installation

Installation follows standard flush mount procedures for a 16-inch diameter fixture. The unit mounts directly to the ceiling junction box using the supplied hardware. Ensure the circuit is off before wiring. The double glass assembly adds weight, so verify the box rating and use both mounting screws. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to materials in this product.

Questions about this item

How do I clean the double glass shades without damaging the inner Satin White or outer Clear glass?

Wipe both glass layers with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with mild soapy water; avoid abrasive cleaners or ammonia-based sprays that could etch the Satin White inner shade or the Clear outer glass.

What limits continuous operation of the 16-inch flush mount?

The integrated LED module and driver set the practical limit; sustained use is constrained by the fixture's thermal design rather than a replaceable lamp.

How much heat does the fixture produce when left on all day?

The LED source runs cooler than traditional bulbs, so the double glass assembly stays warm to the touch but does not become a significant heat source in the room.
