Product identity

The MCHOSE UT98 is a 98% layout mechanical keyboard co-branded with Unbox Therapy. It uses a gasket-mount structure and Silent Peach V3 switches for a quiet typing experience. Tri-mode connectivity covers 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth and wired USB Type-C. A 10000mAh battery powers extended wireless sessions.

Who it suits

Writers and office workers who need a compact silent keyboard for shared or late-night environments will appreciate the sound-absorbing foam stack and low-noise switches. The 98% layout keeps a numeric cluster while saving desk space. Buyers who want a smaller 87-key form factor or a louder, clicky switch feel should look elsewhere.

Install experience

Plug the Type-C cable or pair via 2.4 GHz dongle and Bluetooth for immediate use on Windows, MacOS or Linux. Hot-swappable sockets let you replace switches with the included puller and two spare switches. The aluminum knob and extra keycaps install without tools. The deep gasket stack and multiple foam layers make switch lubrication harder if you later decide to modify the feel.

Questions about this item

Does the UT98 need a specific USB port or dongle to use its 2.4 GHz wireless mode?

It uses a standard USB Type-C connection for the 2.4 GHz receiver, so any USB-A port with a Type-C adapter or native Type-C port will work.

Will the 98% layout and aluminum knob still function if I keep my older USB keyboard connected at the same time?

Yes, the UT98 operates independently over 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, or wired USB Type-C, so a second keyboard stays active without conflict.

How can I confirm the 10000mAh battery is charging properly after I plug in the Type-C cable?

The keyboard features 16.8 million color RGB lighting with music rhythm effects that indicate power status while charging via the included Type-C cable.
