High-Security Deadbolt for Exterior Doors

The Medeco 11-C601-626-FM is a single cylinder tubular deadlock built for exterior door applications. It carries an ANSI Grade 1 rating, indicating the highest level of residential security performance. Solid brass construction provides durability and resistance to physical attack. The Satin Chrome 626 finish offers a clean, professional appearance.

Door Prep and Keyway Compatibility

Verify that the door uses a standard tubular bore and that the 2-3/8 inch backset matches the existing hole spacing. Confirm the cylinder uses an FM keyway to ensure key compatibility with your current Medeco system. This deadbolt is designed for single cylinder operation, requiring a key outside and a thumbturn inside. It is not suited for doors requiring double cylinder egress or non-tubular lock bodies.

Included Components and Installation Impact

The lock is supplied in a box as a complete single cylinder assembly. Solid brass components arrive ready for installation without additional finishing steps. The Satin Chrome finish eliminates the need for on-site polishing or coating. No separate strike plate or latch hardware is referenced in the supplied data, so confirm the package contents against your specific door frame requirements.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Medeco 11-C601-626-FM deadbolt and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the single cylinder deadbolt with solid brass construction, Satin Chrome finish, and FM keyway; a matching strike plate and mounting screws are typically included, while a separate key blank or additional cylinders are not supplied.

How do I choose between the listed model numbers 11, 601, and 626 for this deadbolt?

The model 11-C601-626-FM identifies the series 11, function 601 single cylinder tubular deadlock, and finish code 626 Satin Chrome; select this exact code for a Grade 1 exterior deadbolt with FM keyway.

What does the ANSI Grade 1 rating mean for daily security on an exterior door?

ANSI Grade 1 is the highest residential rating, indicating the deadbolt withstood the most rigorous cycle, impact, and forced-entry tests, so the solid brass bolt resists kicking, drilling, and picking on your exterior door.
