80mm Aperture Refractor Telescope

The MEEZAA 80mm 500mm Refractor Telescope Yellow Edition is a portable astronomical instrument designed for adults and children aged eight to twelve. Its 80mm objective lens and 500mm focal length gather ample light for lunar, planetary and daytime terrestrial observation. Fully multi-coated optics improve image brightness and reduce glare. The complete kit includes a tripod, phone adapter and waterproof backpack for travel.

Tripod Height and Smartphone Compatibility

Before ordering, verify that the adjustable aluminium tripod range of 16.92 to 44.48 inches suits the intended user’s viewing height. The package includes a phone adapter labelled as compatible with smartphones for basic afocal photography. Ensure your device fits the adapter clamp and that you have a clear outdoor area for setup. The optical tube measures 44.5 cm in length when assembled.

Thermal Stability and Power-Free Operation

This telescope operates without electricity, so it produces no fan noise and draws no power during normal use. The aluminium tripod and optical tube will acclimatise to ambient temperature; allow a brief cool-down period after moving from a warm indoor space to the night air for steadier images. The waterproof backpack protects the kit from dew and light rain during transport and storage.

Questions about this item

What accessories come in the yellow edition box and do I need to buy anything extra for phone photography?

The kit includes 25 mm and 10 mm Kellner eyepieces, a 3× Barlow lens, 5×24 finder scope, 45° zenith mirror, adjustable aluminium tripod, phone adapter, stickers and a waterproof backpack — everything needed to start observing and imaging with a smartphone.

Which magnification combination should I choose for lunar craters versus daytime landscapes?

Use the 25 mm eyepiece alone for 20× wide-field daytime views; add the 3× Barlow with the 10 mm eyepiece to reach 150× for detailed lunar and planetary work.

How does the 80 mm aperture perform on a typical suburban night when viewing Saturn?

The 80 mm objective gathers enough light to resolve Saturn’s rings and brightest moons at 150× under average suburban skies, especially when the air is steady and the 45° zenith mirror keeps the image upright.
