Protect your boat keel
Megaware KeelGuard is a 7-foot black protector that shields the hull from sand, rocks and ramp abrasion. It preserves the gelcoat finish and prevents water from reaching the fiberglass laminate. Boat owners who want a do-it-yourself solution for keel wear will find it fits the purpose.
Adhesive stays secure
The pressure-sensitive adhesive bonds the contoured edges permanently to the hull surface. Angled grooves create hydrodynamic channels that reduce drag while underway. The polymer and urethane blend remains pliable across temperature changes without cracking.
Eleven colours available
This model comes in black; ten other colours are offered to match different hull finishes. Buyers who need a longer or shorter length will not find it here. The product is not a structural reinforcement and does not repair existing hull damage.

Questions about this item
How is the KeelGuard installed and which step do people often get wrong?
Clean the hull thoroughly, apply the 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive, then press the contoured edges firmly so the angled grooves seat properly; skipping the surface-prep step causes premature lifting.
What maintenance or replacement will the KeelGuard need later?
Inspect the bonded edges each season; if the abrasive-resistant polymer blend shows deep gouges or the adhesive seal breaks, replace the affected section to keep the gelcoat protected.
What limit appears first under sustained use?
The polymer-urethane blend resists abrasion until heavy impacts wear through the angled grooves, at which point the protector no longer creates the hydrodynamic air pockets that reduce drag.
