KeelGuard 8 ft White boat keel protector
The Megaware KeelGuard is an 8‑foot white abrasion‑resistant strip designed for boat owners who want to shield their hull’s keel from sand, rocks and ramp contact. It bonds directly to the gelcoat with a pressure‑sensitive adhesive that permanently seals the contoured edges to the hull surface.
8‑foot length coverage
The 8‑foot roll protects a continuous keel section and uses angled grooves to create hydrodynamic channels that trap air pockets for a slicker running surface. A single strip covers the rated length; boats with longer keels or multiple impact zones will need additional pieces.
Upgrade from bare gelcoat or worn tape protectors
Replacing unprotected gelcoat or degraded tape with this patented polymer‑urethane blend adds a durable, pliable barrier that resists abrasion and seals out water. The jump is worth it when the existing finish shows wear or when launching conditions regularly expose the keel to abrasive surfaces.

Questions about this item
Will the 8 ft length cover the full keel of my existing boat?
The 8 ft KeelGuard strip is sized for keels up to that length; measure your keel first and trim any excess during installation.
How can I verify the adhesive has bonded correctly after fitting?
Press firmly along every contoured edge and run a finger over the angled grooves — no lifted corners or air gaps means the pressure-sensitive adhesive has sealed.
Does the kit include the 3M adhesive and surface-prep supplies, or must I buy them separately?
The package contains the KeelGuard protector with its built-in pressure-sensitive adhesive; cleaners, primers or rollers are not included and must be sourced separately.
