Provides 100Gb/s InfiniBand and Ethernet connectivity over a single QSFP port with PCIe 4.0 x16 bandwidth and sub-600ns latency
The Mellanox ConnectX-6 VPI is a PCIe 4.0 x16 add-in card with a single QSFP port. It delivers 100Gb/s connectivity for both InfiniBand and Ethernet fabrics. The card targets data-centre and HPC clusters that need low-latency, high-throughput networking.
The adapter supports InfiniBand speeds from SDR up to HDR100 and Ethernet rates of 10, 25, 40, 50 and 100Gb/s. It achieves sub-600ns latency and 200 million messages per second. Workloads that exceed 100Gb/s per port or require dual-port redundancy will need additional cards.
Installation requires a full-length PCI Express 4.0 x16 slot. Systems limited to PCIe 3.0 or smaller link widths will restrict available bandwidth. Verify slot availability and mechanical clearance before purchase.

Yes, the card is backward compatible and will operate at PCIe 3.0 x16 speeds, providing up to 100Gb/s throughput limited by the slot bandwidth.
Check the link status LEDs on the QSFP port and use Mellanox firmware tools or standard OS utilities to confirm negotiated speed and latency counters.
The adapter ships as a plug-in card only; compatible QSFP transceivers or direct-attach cables for 100Gb/s InfiniBand or Ethernet must be bought separately.
