Discreet 720x480 recording
The Meree MBSOD200 integrates a camcorder into sport sunglasses, capturing 720x480 AVI video at 30 fps. A 5 V 280 mAh lithium-polymer cell powers up to 1.5 hours of continuous recording per charge. The frame accepts microSD cards up to 16 GB, which are not supplied. Operation is rated from 0 °C to 60 °C.
Upgrade from handheld or clip-on units
This design replaces a separate body-worn camera when hands-free capture is the priority. The jump is worth it for drivers, cyclists or walkers who need forward-facing footage without a visible device on the chest or helmet. Users who require higher resolution, longer run-time or removable batteries should look elsewhere.
Plug-and-play file transfer
Charging and data transfer use the included USB cable; the glasses appear as a mass-storage device on Windows XP through Windows 8 and on Mac OS. No driver installation is described. The main friction point is the 16 GB card ceiling, which caps recording sessions unless footage is off-loaded frequently.

Questions about this item
How does the frame mount on the face?
The camera is built into a sport-style sunglass frame that sits on the ears and nose like ordinary eyewear; no extra brackets or clips are required.
What is the first step to start recording and what do users often miss?
Charge the 5V 280mAh Li-polymer battery via the USB cable until the indicator stops blinking, then press the single control button; many forget the initial full charge and get no video.
Which consumable will need replacement and how often?
The internal 5V 280mAh Li-polymer battery is not user-replaceable; when it no longer holds the rated 1.5-hour recording time the whole unit must be replaced.
