Precision Scale Model for Collectors

This Metal Earth kit reproduces the Imperial Japanese Navy battleship Yamato at a challenging difficulty level. It contains 255 steel parts that assemble into a highly detailed exterior measuring approximately 11.61 inches long, 1.77 inches wide and 2.56 inches high. The officially licensed model requires no glue or paint and is intended for adult hobbyists and collectors who appreciate military vehicle replicas.

Tab-and-Slot Assembly with Tweezers

Parts connect through a tab-and-slot system that folds together without adhesives, though tweezers or similar tools are recommended to manipulate the small steel components. The challenging rating means the build demands patience and fine motor control; rushing the folds can warp tabs or misalign the superstructure. Because the finished model has no openings, interior details cannot be displayed once assembly is complete.

255-Part Count Defines Build Complexity

The single specification that determines whether this kit matches your skill level is the 255-part count combined with the challenging difficulty designation. Builders seeking a quicker or simpler project will find the part count too demanding, while experienced modellers looking for an intricate steel replica of a 72,800-tonne warship will find the scale and detail appropriate.
