The Metra 82-6602 adapter enables installation of aftermarket 6in to 6.75in speakers into select Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles from 1995 onward. A break-away tab design provides flexibility during fitting. The unit weighs 1.30 and is supplied new.

Vehicle fit and depth constraints

This adapter suits owners replacing factory speakers in compatible Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep models dated 1995-up. Builders working on Dodge Dakota or Durango 1997-2004 should note these applications need extra depth clearance. Installers requiring a different bolt pattern or speaker size must choose another solution.

6in to 6.75in speaker size range

The adapter accepts aftermarket speakers measuring 6in up to 6.75in. This single dimension decides whether the part matches the replacement driver you have selected. Verify your speaker diameter before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will the break-away tab design on the 82-6602 fit my 1997 Dodge Dakota without trimming?

The break-away tabs give flexibility for 6in to 6 3/4in speakers, but Dakota and Durango 1997-2004 applications need extra depth room, so check clearance before installing.

How can I verify the adapter is seated correctly after mounting it in a 1995-up Chrysler door?

The speaker should sit flush with the door panel, the mounting holes line up with the factory pattern, and no gaps appear around the adapter perimeter once the tabs are set.

Does the 82-6602 package include mounting screws or a wiring harness for Jeep installs?

The box contains only the speaker adapter; mounting hardware and any vehicle-specific wiring harness must be sourced separately.
