  • Gapless dashboard fit thanks to precision tolerances
  • Factory-matched paint for an OEM look
  • High-grade ABS plastic construction for durability
  • Factory-style texture maintains interior consistency
  • Double DIN radio installation kit for select 1999-2005 Volkswagen models

Vehicle Compatibility

This Metra 95-9012 dash kit fits select Volkswagen models produced between 1999 and 2006. Covered vehicles include the 1999-2006 Golf, 1999-2005 GTI and Jetta (excluding the new style), and 2000-2005 Passat. It enables installation of a double DIN or ISO radio into the factory dashboard opening.

Fit and Finish

The kit is moulded from high-grade ABS plastic with a factory-style texture and painted to match the original dash colour. Precision tolerances create a gapless fit between the dash and the kit, so the installed head unit looks like an OEM component rather than an aftermarket addition.

Installer Profile

This kit suits owners of the listed Volkswagen models who want to upgrade to a double DIN head unit without custom fabrication. It is not for vehicles outside the 1999-2006 range, for Jetta or GTI models with the newer dashboard style, or for installations that require a single DIN opening.

Questions about this item

Will the high-grade ABS plastic of the 95-9012 kit need replacement due to warping or cracking over time?

The high-grade ABS plastic is built to withstand normal cabin temperatures and resist warping or cracking, so no scheduled replacement is required.

What is the first fitment limit when installing a double-DIN radio in a 1999-2005 Volkswagen using this kit?

The kit is engineered for a gapless fit with factory tolerances; the limit is the radio chassis itself, which must conform to standard double-DIN/ISO dimensions.

Does the painted factory-match finish on the 95-9012 kit fade or discolour after prolonged exposure to sunlight and cabin heat?

The painted texture matches the factory dash colour and is formulated to resist UV fading and heat discolouration under normal daily use.
