Vehicle Compatibility

This Metra 956534B double DIN dash kit fits select 2007 and 2008 Dodge and Jeep models. It provides a factory style opening for an aftermarket head unit. The black finish matches the original interior trim.

Installation Behaviour

The kit secures directly to the vehicle dashboard using the original mounting points. No structural modification of the dash is required during installation. The 4.00 weight indicates a solid moulded construction that resists vibration over time.

Critical Specification

The double DIN chassis size is the single specification that determines fitment. Only head units built to the double DIN standard will mount in this kit. Single DIN radios cannot be installed without a separate adapter.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 956534B dash kit generate when the stereo runs all day?

The kit is a passive plastic frame with no electronics, so it produces no heat of its own.

What factory parts must stay in the 2007-2008 Dodge or Jeep for this Double DIN kit to fit?

You reuse the original dashboard trim, brackets and wiring harness; the kit simply surrounds the new radio.

Will the 4.00 lb kit align with the existing steering-wheel controls on my 2007 Jeep?

The dash kit only provides the mounting opening; steering-wheel control retention depends on the aftermarket radio and its adapter, not on the kit itself.
