A black dash kit that fits single- or double-DIN radios into 2005-2012 Porsche 997 models and includes all mounting hardware
This Metra 999606B dash kit fits 2005-2012 Porsche 997 vehicles. It provides an ISO Single DIN radio provision with a pocket and an ISO Double DIN radio provision. The panel is painted black. The kit includes one radio trim panel, two radio brackets, one pocket, eight screws and installation instructions.
This kit suits owners installing an aftermarket single-DIN or double-DIN head unit into a 2005-2012 Porsche 997. It is not for vehicles outside those model years. It is not for buyers who need a vehicle-specific wiring harness or antenna adapter, which are not included. It is not for installers without a panel removal tool, Phillips screwdrivers, Torx T-15, Torx T-30 and a 5mm Allen wrench.
The kit supports both ISO Single DIN and ISO Double DIN head units. The single-DIN opening includes a storage pocket. The double-DIN opening accommodates larger touchscreen receivers. This dual provision is the specification that determines fit for your chosen radio.

Remove the factory radio using a panel tool, Torx T-15 and T-30 drivers, and a 5 mm Allen wrench; attach the two supplied brackets to the new head unit, then secure the trim panel with the four #8 x 3/8" and four 5 mm x 12 mm screws — the pocket must be fitted before the final panel screws are tightened.
The painted black plastic trim and pocket are passive parts with no moving components; they require no scheduled maintenance, though the Phillips and Torx screws should be re-checked after the first few drives to ensure they have not loosened from vibration.
The fixed DIN opening dimensions and screw locations define the fit; long-term use is limited only by potential screw loosening or plastic clip fatigue, not by thermal or electronic constraints.
