The Metra ACP7 is a 7-inch wireless touchscreen that adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to any vehicle. It mounts with an adhesive bracket or suction cup and connects through the supplied power and AUX cables. The unit targets drivers who want smartphone integration without permanent dashboard modification. It suits cars lacking factory infotainment or owners who move the screen between vehicles.
Bundled Accessories and Software
A waterproof backup camera with 180-degree viewing angle and night vision activates automatically in reverse. Wireless mirror link duplicates a phone display for video playback up to 1080p resolution. Built-in Bluetooth handles calls and audio streaming while GPS navigation runs through the connected smartphone. Playback supports H.264, H.265/HEVC and MPEG-4 files from an SD card.
Build and Connectivity
The 1/2-DIN chassis measures 14.33in wide by 12.83in high by 9.06in deep in black finish. A 3.5mm jack provides auxiliary audio output to external speakers or amplifiers. Questions about this item
Will the SD card slot need a higher-capacity card later for 1080P video files?
The unit plays H.264, H.265 and MPEG-4 up to 1080P, so larger SD cards can be added whenever more storage is wanted.
What limits continuous operation — the 180° backup camera view or the 7-inch 1024x600 touchscreen?
The 180° rear-view camera angle is fixed; the 7-inch 1024x600 IPS touchscreen remains the primary interface during all-day use.
Does the 3.5 mm jack or the built-in Bluetooth speaker produce noticeable heat after hours of GPS navigation?
The 3.5 mm jack and Bluetooth audio run at low power, so neither generates significant heat during extended GPS sessions.
