Universal 7/16" Stem Office Chair Wheels

These Metra Office Chair Wheel 01 casters replace standard chair wheels with a universal 7/16" x 7/8" stem that fits most models except IKEA chairs. The set of 5 polypropylene wheels installs without tools in seconds. They suit home offices, gaming setups and work environments where a quick, tool-free upgrade is needed.

Silent 360° Rolling Under 25 dB

Precision bearings deliver smooth 360° rotation while keeping noise below 25 dB during normal moves across hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl and low-pile carpet. The double-layer hub design supports up to 450 lbs, so the wheels roll quietly even under full capacity without requiring a floor mat.

Hair-Resistant Design for Sustained Use

A unique wheel profile prevents fur, dust and debris from tangling inside the casters during extended daily use. This keeps rolling resistance low and maintenance minimal in households with pets. The solid polypropylene construction maintains consistent performance over long periods without the wear that can affect softer materials.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 7/16" x 7/8" stem wheels, and what is the common mistake?

Push each stem firmly into the chair base until it clicks; the step people miss is not seating the stem fully, which causes wobble. Note: not compatible with IKEA chairs.

What maintenance will the polypropylene casters need over time?

The hair-resistant design minimises tangles; simply wipe the wheels occasionally to remove dust or debris that may collect on the tread.

At what load does the double-layer hub reach its limit during sustained use?

The casters are rated for 450 lbs total capacity; exceeding this weight will cause the hub to deform or fail first.
