Ready for the outdoors

The MIATONE StormBeat Q8 is a portable Bluetooth 6.0 speaker built for travel, cycling, hiking, camping and beach use. It weighs 1.57 lb and measures 3.24 in by 3.05 in by 8.09 in, so it fits easily in a pack. The IPX7 waterproof rating means it survives immersion in water. This speaker is not for buyers who need a multi-room home audio system or a fixed installation with wired inputs.

Sustained output and battery life

The unit delivers 36 watts RMS with a 40 watt peak capability through a 2.0 channel configuration. A 90 decibel signal-to-noise ratio and 20000 hertz response bandwidth support clear playback during extended sessions. The battery provides up to 24 hours of playtime on a single charge. It is not suited for users who require continuous mains-powered operation without recharging.

Thermals noise and power draw

Passive amplification keeps the speaker silent when idle and avoids active cooling noise during playback. Bluetooth 6.0 maintains a stable link up to 100 feet with low transmission power. The compact enclosure dissipates heat without fans. Buyers who need rack-mountable gear with forced-air cooling or professional balanced connections will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

How loud does the 36 W RMS output get after hours of continuous play?

The speaker delivers 36 watts RMS and 40 watts peak through a 2.0 channel design, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 90 dB, so it stays clean at high volume during all-day use.

What source device do I need to use Bluetooth 6.0 with this speaker?

Any phone, tablet or computer that supports Bluetooth 6.0 will pair with the speaker and give you the full 100-foot operating range.

Will the IPX7 rating survive a full day at the beach alongside my older gear?

Yes — the IPX7 waterproof rating means the speaker can handle immersion in water, making it safe for beach, pool or shower use while your other devices stay dry.
