Adds dual-band Wi-Fi up to 1200 Mbps via USB 3.0 with two adjustable 5 dBi antennas for extended range
The Mickey Technology Nineplus AC1200 adds dual-band Wi-Fi to a desktop or laptop through a USB 3.0 port. It delivers up to 1200Mbps combined throughput with two 5dBi antennas for extended range. The adapter supports Windows 11 down to XP, Mac OS 10.9 to 10.15 and Linux. It upgrades older devices to 802.11ac performance without opening the case.
Users needing a quick wireless upgrade for streaming, browsing or light gaming on the 5GHz or 2.4GHz band will find it useful. Buyers who require built-in Bluetooth, internal PCIe installation or external antenna connectors should consider other options. The adapter also does not suit systems that only offer USB 1.1 ports.
The USB 3.0 interface provides up to 10 times the transfer rate of USB 2.0, so the host port must be USB 3.0 to reach the rated 867Mbps on 5GHz and 300Mbps on 2.4GHz. If the computer only has USB 2.0, throughput will be limited to that slower bus speed.

Choose 5 GHz at 867 Mbps for high-bandwidth tasks like HD streaming and gaming when close to the router; switch to 2.4 GHz at 300 Mbps for better range and stability through walls.
The 1200 Mbps is a combined theoretical maximum across both bands; actual throughput will be lower and depends on your router, environment and the single band you connect to at any time.
No, USB 3.0 supports up to 5 Gbps, well above the 867 Mbps 5 GHz radio link, so the wireless connection remains the limiting factor.
