A 10 ft IEEE-1284 parallel cable with DB25 male and Centronics 36-pin male connectors for printers and scanners
The Micro Connectors 10 ft DB25M to C36M cable links a PC parallel port to IEEE-1284 printers, scanners or all-in-one peripherals. It uses a 25-pin DB-25 male connector on one end and a 36-pin Centronics male connector on the other. The fully moulded ends include thumbscrews for a secure fit.
The IEEE-1284 standard defines a maximum reliable cable length of 10 ft, which this cable meets exactly. Going beyond that distance can cause data errors or device drop-outs, so the 10 ft length is the practical ceiling for parallel printer connections without active repeaters.
Thumbscrews on both connectors make attachment tool-free and quick. The most frequent problems are bent pins on the DB-25 or Centronics plugs, loose thumbscrews that work free under vibration, and using a longer cable than the 10 ft limit which breaks IEEE-1284 compliance.

This cable is 10 ft long. Choose it when the distance between your DB-25 port and Centronics port fits within that reach.
IEEE-1284 enables bi-directional communication, so the printer can send status and data back to the computer at higher throughput than a standard parallel link.
The connectors follow the IEEE-1284 parallel standard, which supports bi-directional modes such as EPP and ECP for faster data transfer than the original Centronics implementation.
