  • Pack of two duplex cables with LC/SC ends

Ready-to-install duplex pair

This pack supplies two 3-metre OM3 multi-mode cables, each terminated with an LC connector on one end and an SC connector on the other. The 50/125 micron core suits enterprise LAN links, data-centre cross-connects and campus backbone runs that demand 10 gigabit throughput over short distances. Aqua jackets identify the OM3 grade at a glance, and the OFNR riser rating permits vertical routing between floors without additional fire-stop measures.

Mixed LC/SC ends simplify patching

The LC ferrule fits high-density transceivers and cassette modules, while the SC push-pull body allows quick moves in wall plates or older patch panels. Both connectors share the same 2.0 mm PVC jacket, so cable management stays consistent across the rack. Backward compatibility with legacy LED-based 50/125 equipment protects existing infrastructure investment when upgrading to VCSEL sources.

Riser-rated build for in-wall use

PVC sheathing meets OFNR flame requirements, enabling permanent installation in vertical shafts without conduit in most jurisdictions. The 2.0 mm outer diameter bends cleanly in tight cable trays and maintains the 2000 MHz·km effective modal bandwidth at 850 nm that underpins 10 Gb/s at 300 metres, 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s at 100 metres. Not suited for outdoor plant or plenum spaces that demand OFNP rating.

Questions about this item

Will the LC or SC connectors need periodic cleaning or replacement after installation?

The LC and SC connectors are passive optical interfaces; they do not wear out but should be inspected and cleaned with a lint-free wipe and isopropyl alcohol if contaminated.

What bandwidth distance limit applies first when running 10 Gb traffic continuously over this 3 m duplex run?

OM3 fibre with 2000 MHz·km EMB at 850 nm supports 10 Gb up to 300 m, so a 3 m link is far within the distance budget.

Does the PVC jacket or the fibre itself generate noticeable heat when the link carries 10 Gb all day?

Optical fibre transmits light, not electrical current, so the cable produces no measurable heat during continuous 10 Gb operation.
