A 12.8 TB enterprise NVMe SSD with PCIe 4.0 x4 U.3 interface, 232-layer NAND and hardware encryption for mixed-use data centre workloads
The Micron 7500 MAX is a 12.8 TB enterprise solid-state drive in a 2.5-inch U.3 form factor. It connects through a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface using the NVMe protocol. The drive is built with 232-layer NAND and targets mixed-use data centre workloads such as databases, virtualization, real-time analytics and cloud platforms.
This model adds hardware-based encryption with 256-bit AES, 3072-bit RSA and 208-bit RSA algorithms. It meets FIPS 140-3 Level 2 certification and supports TCG Opal 2.01. The feature set replaces unencrypted or lower-certified drives when regulatory compliance or data-at-rest protection is a deployment requirement.
The drive delivers six-nines quality of service with consistent sub-millisecond latency under continuous mixed-use load. 232-layer NAND architecture provides higher power efficiency while maintaining performance during extended write-heavy operations typical of AI training, content delivery and social-media infrastructure.

The drive fits a 2.5-inch U.3 bay and connects through a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe interface.
Insert the drive into the U.3 backplane until the connector seats fully, then secure the retention latch; the latch is frequently left unlatched, causing connection errors.
As a mixed-use drive with 232-layer NAND, it is rated for sustained workloads; replace it when SMART reports the media‑wear indicator approaching the reserved threshold.
