12/24 VDC Switching Output

The Microsemi PD-AS-951/12-24 is a high-power active PoE splitter designed for network installers who need to power non-PoE equipment from a PoE midspan or switch. It separates data and power from a single Ethernet cable and delivers selectable 12 V or 24 V DC output through the included barrel connectors. The unit accepts PoE input voltages lower than the standard 44 V or 50 V minimums, broadening compatibility with varied power sourcing equipment.

Capacity and headroom

Rated at 60 W, the splitter comfortably handles 10/100/1000 data rates while supplying sufficient power for devices such as PTZ IP cameras, WiMAX CPEs, 802.11n access points, thin clients and video phones. It runs out when the connected load exceeds the 60 W budget or when the power sourcing equipment cannot deliver the required power over the four-pair Ethernet link. The 12 V and 24 V output options are user selectable to match the target device's voltage requirement.

Build quality and connectors

The white enclosure carries two shielded RJ-45 ports wired to EIA 568A and 568B standards for reliable gigabit data pass-through. On the power side the unit provides a 2.5 x 6.4 mm DC jack plus two external cables with 5.5 x 2.5 mm and 3.4 x 1.4 mm barrel plugs, covering common connector sizes without needing adapters. The four-pair active splitting design ensures stable power delivery across the full cable run.
