Ergonomic USB Keyboard

The Microsoft Natural 4000 is a wired ergonomic keyboard that connects through USB. Its split Gull Wing layout uses a 14-degree gable and a curved key bed to bring keys closer to the fingers. An integrated cushioned palm rest and an optional seven-degree reverse slope support a more neutral wrist posture. The black chassis measures 19.80 inches wide by 10.30 inches deep and 3.26 inches high.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This keyboard suits typists who prefer a fixed split design with a built-in palm rest and dedicated media controls. It provides 107 normal keys plus 17 function keys and customizable hot keys for shortcuts. Buyers who need a compact layout, a separate numeric keypad, or wireless freedom will not find those features here. The wired USB cable also limits placement flexibility compared to cordless models.

Deciding specification: USB wired connection

The single specification that decides fit is the wired USB interface. It draws power directly from the host and requires an available Type-A port, so systems with only USB-C need an adapter. No batteries or charging are involved, and the connection works with the listed Windows versions without extra drivers. If your setup demands a cable-free desk or a specific port type, verify the port availability before purchasing.
