Surface Laptop 4 13.5-inch Touchscreen

This 13.5-inch laptop delivers a 2256 x 1504 LCD touchscreen, an Intel Core i5-1145G7 quad-core processor and 8GB LPDDR4X memory. It runs Windows 11 Pro on a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD and is finished in Ice Blue. The compact design suits professionals who need a portable device for daily productivity and light creative work.

Build integration and expandability

The system ships with the laptop and charger only, requiring no extra cables or docks for basic operation. Integrated graphics free up internal space and power budget compared with discrete solutions, while the single PCIe NVMe drive handles boot and storage duties without additional drive bays. Memory slots support up to 16GB total, though the 8GB LPDDR4X is soldered and not user-replaceable. Buyers who want more storage or user-upgradable RAM should consider other form factors.

Thermals, noise and power in normal use

The quad-core processor with 12MB L3 cache and integrated graphics keeps heat output modest during office tasks, web browsing and video playback. Fan noise stays low in typical workloads thanks to the efficient 11th-generation architecture and thin chassis design. Power draw remains contained, allowing the battery to last through a standard workday without requiring a high-wattage adapter. The 90-day hardware warranty covers the unit as supplied.

Questions about this item

How does the 8 GB LPDDR4X memory limit sustained multitasking?

The 8 GB LPDDR4X is soldered, so only 8 GB is usable for all workloads; the two listed slots support a maximum of 16 GB if the board is later upgraded by a technician.

What are the thermal and acoustic results when the Core i5-1145G7 runs at 3 GHz all day?

The quad-core chip with 12 MB cache shares a fanless vapour-chamber design; under continuous load it throttles to stay within its 15 W envelope, keeping surface temperatures warm but fan noise at zero.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the 2256 x 1504 touchscreen and NVMe storage?

No extra hardware is required — the 13.5-inch LCD touchscreen and 512 GB NVMe drive are built in; only a USB-C charger or the supplied Surface Connect adapter is needed for power.
