Surface Laptop 5 13.5" for mobile professionals

This 13.5 inch touchscreen laptop ships with Windows 11 Home on an Intel Core i5-1235U processor, 8 GB of onboard memory and a 512 GB SSD. The aluminium chassis meets Intel Evo platform targets for responsiveness and battery life. It suits people who want a premium ultraportable with a calibrated 3:2 display.

Not for memory upgraders or discrete GPU users

The memory is soldered with zero expansion slots, so capacity cannot be increased later. Buyers who need more than 8 GB of RAM or a dedicated graphics card for heavy 3D work should look at larger workstations. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory and handle everyday tasks and light creative loads.

8 GB onboard memory with no slots decides fit

The system provides 8 GB of memory soldered to the board with zero expansion slots, so the amount cannot be increased after purchase. This fixed capacity is the single specification that determines whether the laptop fits a workflow.
