Snapdragon X Elite 12-Core Performance

This refurbished Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 runs on a Snapdragon X Elite processor with 12 cores, a 3.8GHz clock and 42MB L3 cache. The 13.8-inch IPS touchscreen delivers a 2304 x 1536 resolution. Windows 11 Home comes pre-installed on the 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD.

16GB Fixed Memory Constraint

The system includes 16GB of DDR5 memory with two slots available, yet the maximum supported capacity is also 16GB, so no upgrade is possible. Users who need more than 16GB of RAM for heavy multitasking or virtual machines should consider a different platform.

1TB PCIe NVMe Storage Capacity

The single specification that decides fit is the 1TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. It provides 1000GB of high-speed storage for the operating system, applications and large project files. Buyers who require more capacity or a secondary drive bay will need to look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16GB DDR5 version or look for a model with more memory?

The laptop ships with 16GB DDR5 and the specification lists the maximum supported memory as 16GB, so this is the only capacity available for this model.

What does the 3.8GHz Snapdragon X Elite 12-core processor deliver in daily use?

The 12-core CPU with 42MB cache runs at up to 3.8GHz, providing responsive performance for multitasking, web browsing and productivity apps on Windows 11 Home.

Does the 1TB PCIe NVMe drive use a standard M.2 slot, and what speed ceiling does that interface impose?

The 1000GB SSD connects via PCIe NVMe, giving fast read and write speeds typical of modern NVMe storage in this form factor.
