15" Copilot+ Laptop for AI Workflows

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 EP2-50779 is a 15.0-inch touchscreen notebook built around the Intel Core Ultra 5 335 processor. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and 16GB of DDR5 memory. The 3270 x 2180 PixelSense display runs at 120 Hz and supports touch input. A 5-megapixel webcam and Wi-Fi 7 complete the core feature set.

Best for Portable Professionals Needing Local AI

This device suits users who want on-device Copilot+ acceleration in a thin 15-inch form factor. The 256GB SSD and integrated Intel Graphics handle office suites, browser workloads and video calls without a discrete GPU. Buyers who need large local datasets, sustained heavy rendering or upgradeable memory should look elsewhere.

256GB SSD and 16GB DDR5 Headroom

The 256GB drive holds the operating system, core applications and a moderate working set of files. The 16GB DDR5 allocation keeps multitasking smooth across dozens of browser tabs and productivity apps. Storage fills quickly with raw media libraries or virtual machines, and memory cannot be expanded after purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the EP2-50779's Intel Graphics drive an older external monitor at its native resolution via the available video output?

The Intel Graphics supports external displays up to 4K resolution through the USB-C port, so most older monitors will run at their native resolution.

How can I verify the 120 Hz PixelSense touchscreen is running at its full 3270 x 2180 resolution after setup?

Open Settings > System > Display and confirm the resolution shows 3270 x 2180 at 120 Hz; the touch test in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touch also verifies the panel responds correctly.

What confirms the Copilot+ PC AI features are active on the Intel Core Ultra 5 335 after first boot?

Press the Copilot key or open the Copilot app; if the sidebar appears with local AI processing indicators, the NPU in the Ultra 5 335 is enabled and Windows 11 Pro recognises the Copilot+ PC certification.
