13" Copilot+ Laptop for Mobile Professionals

The Microsoft Surface Laptop EP2-36981 combines a Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor with 16GB LPDDR5x memory and 256GB UFS storage. A 13" PixelSense touchscreen runs at 1920 x 1280 resolution and 400 nits brightness. Windows 11 Home powers AI-enhanced workflows with up to 23 hours of battery life.

Suits AI-Focused Users; Not Heavy GPU Workloads

This device targets users who need on-device Copilot+ features, long battery endurance and a lightweight chassis. Buyers requiring discrete graphics performance, Thunderbolt peripheral support or user-upgradeable storage should evaluate alternatives. The integrated Adreno GPU shares system memory for everyday tasks.

256GB UFS Storage Defines Capacity Limits

The 256GB UFS drive determines how many applications and files reside locally without cloud reliance. Two USB-C ports with USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds plus one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port handle external drives. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 provide modern wireless connectivity.

Questions about this item

How warm or loud does the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100 get when the 13" 400-nit touchscreen runs at 60 Hz all day?

The 8-core Snapdragon X Plus is built for low thermal output and fanless operation, so the chassis stays cool and silent during continuous use with the 1920 x 1280 PixelSense display at 60 Hz.

Which cables or peripherals must I already own to use the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and Thunderbolt 4 ports on this EP2-36981?

You need USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4 cables for the two Type-C ports, a USB-A 3.1 Gen 2 cable for the Type-A port, and a 3.5 mm headset plug for the combo jack.

Will my older USB-A 3.0 keyboard and 1080p monitor work with the USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 and Thunderbolt 4 ports on this Surface Laptop?

Yes, the USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 port is backward compatible with USB 3.0 devices, and the Thunderbolt 4 ports support DisplayPort alt-mode for a 1080p monitor via a suitable cable or adapter.
