M16-1.50 steel Class 8 lock nut with nylon insert resists vibration loosening
This M16-1.50 steel lock nut uses a nylon insert to resist loosening caused by vibration and torque. It is rated Class 8 for strength and finished in yellow zinc. The part suits automotive, industrial and general mechanical assemblies where fastener security is critical. Sold individually under manufacturer part number 53675.
A plain hex nut can back off when subjected to repeated shock or cyclic loading. The nylon insert creates prevailing torque that maintains clamp force without additional locking hardware. The upgrade is worthwhile whenever disassembly for re-torquing is impractical or when joint failure carries safety or downtime costs.
Buyers needing a reusable, all-metal prevailing-torque nut or a higher temperature rating should look elsewhere. The nylon insert limits service temperature and is not intended for repeated removal cycles. Applications requiring left-hand threads, fine-pitch variants other than 1.50 mm, or non-steel materials are not served by this item.

The nut uses a metric M16 thread with a 1.50 mm pitch, requiring a matching M16-1.50 bolt or stud for proper engagement.
Thread the nut onto the bolt by hand until the nylon insert engages, then tighten with a wrench; do not reuse the nut because the nylon insert deforms permanently.
Replace the nut whenever it is removed, if the nylon insert shows cracks or wear, or if the yellow coating is damaged enough to allow corrosion on the steel body.
